Empowering Climate Action Through Knowledge: A Step Toward Sustainability

By: Biology Society

In the face of climate change, education and collaboration play a pivotal role in empowering individuals and communities to take action. The UC Biology Society proudly partnered with the Forestry Stewardship and Extension Club (FSEC) for an enlightening seminar on ๐‚๐š๐ซ๐›๐จ๐ง ๐’๐ž๐ช๐ฎ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐š๐ง๐ ๐๐š๐ฌ๐ข๐œ ๐‚๐š๐ซ๐›๐จ๐ง ๐’๐ญ๐จ๐œ๐ค๐ฌ ๐€๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ last November 20 at room S232 of the Science Building of the University of the Cordilleras.

This lecture, marking Phase 1 of our Adopt a Forest Project, provided invaluable insights into carbon stocksโ€”critical tools for mitigating greenhouse gas emissions and fostering environmental sustainability. By understanding how forests act as natural carbon sinks, we can better appreciate their role in combating global warming while taking active steps toward preserving and restoring these vital ecosystems.

The seminar was not just an educational experience but also an inspiring first step in our collective journey toward a greener, more sustainable future. The collaboration between UC BioSoc and FSEC highlights the importance of united efforts in addressing environmental challenges.
