On November 8, 2024, the University and the Kapatiran organization successfully concluded the renegotiation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), guided by principles of SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, particularly Target 16.7, which promotes inclusive and participatory decision-making. The process was marked by open dialogue and mutual respect, reflecting a shared commitment to institutional integrity and responsive governance.
Key areas addressed in the agreement include:
- Compensation and Benefits
Supporting SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth, Target 8.5, which aims for decent work and equal pay for all. - Professional Development
Advancing SDG 4 – Quality Education, Target 4.4, by enhancing opportunities for lifelong learning and skills development. - Workplace Safety
Reinforcing SDG 8, Target 8.8, which promotes safe and secure working environments and labor rights. - Communication Systems
Strengthening institutional transparency and inclusivity under SDG 16, Target 16.7.
The renewed agreement balances employee welfare with the University’s mission and operational sustainability.
